  1. I have actually taken the time to sit down and read a few novels lately -- what luxury! Nothing spectacular -- an Agatha Christie, a Martha Grimes Inspector Jury mystery, Josephine Tey's "The Daughter of Time," May Sarton's "The House by the Sea," a Mexican novel (ack! forgot the name!), and "Wives and Daughters" by Elizabeth Gaskell -- in the midst of that now, and it's wonderful. My daughter just finished it and passed it along.

What is it about summer that makes us want to read? Except in late August, I get the urge to KNIT. Some sort of latent nesting instinct.

    Best wishes, Cass
